Carlya Piccott, Church Secretary

Carlya Piccott was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan. She began attending a small Baptist Church with her parents as a result of the Sunday School Bus Ministry, and was saved shortly thereafter at the age of 10 years old. In 1987 she graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Bible, and minors in Secretarial and Music. After her marriage to Kirk in 1988, she moved to Newfoundland and was employed as a legal secretary at a law firm in St. John’s for the next 21 years. The Lord then began opening the doors, and in October 2009 she started her new position as the Church Secretary at First Baptist. Since 1988 Carlya has served in various ministries at First Baptist, including Junior Church, Youth Group, Awana, and in the Music Ministry.
